Capacity to Change

We have undertaken further work in our Capacity to Change series. This includes our recently published Commissioning Strategy for Learning Disability Services - Capacity to Change Programme Project and our Commissioning Effective Services for Older People - Capacity to Change Programme Project. You can also access our previously produced workbooks which provide partnerships with a framework to estimate future need and demand for services, given population changes, along with financial and workforce data, as well as service analysis and option appraisal in support of decision-making and improvement in care pathways and service delivery.

You can access all the work in our Capacity to Change series via the links below.

Capacity Planning Effective Services for Older People - The Interactive Commissioning Information System

Within the Capacity to Change Older People section there is an online interactive system which has been designed to help local authority and health partners manage data across the whole system to assist capacity planning. It will be of particular use when considering older people's services, as local commissioning plans are developed. These national (core) data sets should be used in conjunction with local data and information.

The two datasets can be downloaded, saved and used at local level.
