What was the issue you were addressing or working on?
West Dunbartonshire CHCP recognised that the RCOP agenda offered both opportunities and risks to providers of care. In developing a cohort of managers involved in My Home Life we are attempting to support our Managers to embrace the changes which RCOP will bring and also support them to engage with key decision makers in order that they can help direct the future provision of care in order that it better meets the needs of those receiving care. Whilst promoting the delivery of high quality care.
What you did?
The Change Fund was used to support the Development Officer promote the programme across all of West Dunbartonshire Care Home Managers and given the level of interest noted a formal bid for funding of the programme was submitted to the Change Fund Implementation Group.
What were the outcomes - benefits or otherwise?
The programme has only just completed the initial; Leadership Development strand and is about to move on to the Community Development strand. Consequently any feedback has to be seen in this context. However the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with a number of participants already noting changes to how they are Managing within their services and all welcoming the opportunity to work across; Statutory, Voluntary and Local Authority Sectors. Through the course of the programme the participants will however be developing reports on the outcomes achieved through their attendance, which will complete in Aug 2014.
