NHSScotland, the Scottish Government and CoSLA – in partnership with the Third Sector and the Independent Sector – have agreed to form a Joint Improvement Partnership Board.
With membership of the Board comprising senior executive representatives of the three founding partners and executive representatives from the Third and Independent Sectors, this arrangement will strengthen the position of the JIT, as the lead improvement partner in health, housing and care reform, to work with National Partners to accelerate the pace of transformational change and to support and challenge improvement in the delivery of integrated health and care.
The Joint Improvement Partnership Board and the JIT will work in partnership with other improvement organisations and Boards in order to ensure best value from the collective national improvement capacity and resources to support progress on the full range of strategic improvement priorities for health and social care.
We expect the Joint Improvement Partnership Board will encourage greater ownership of the joint improvement and integration agenda by all National Partners, and a greater willingness by local partnerships to engage as a matter of course with the important improvement capacity and resource that the JIT represents.
The Board will also ensure that the JIT addresses the implications for local partnerships that arise from the consultation/processes related to the Health and SociCi!Care Integration Bill and its implementation. This will include ensuring capacity to respond flexibly and rapidly to the need for improvement support as well as provision of developmental and improvement support in a planned and proactive way.
