The Data Protection Act

What information do we collect?

We collect two kinds of information from visitors to jitscotland.org.uk: subscription details for email updates and server log files.

Subscription to email updates

If you opt to subscribe to email updates, the information we collect is: your title, name, position, organisation and email address.

Log files

This information is stored to allow us to send you information from time to time about JIT and related news and events. A copy of this information is kept securely by JIT and our technology suppliers Whitespace and will be held until such time you inform JIT otherwise. This information is also stored on back-up tapes to avoid loss of data. Should you wish to opt out from receiving email updates, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe page.

Log files allow us to record visitors' use of the website. Our technology suppliers Whitespace puts together log file information from all our visitors which we use to make changes to the layout and content based on the way that visitors move around the website and interact with it. Log files do not contain any personal information.
