Connecting Partnerships

We've established a Connecting Partnerships Framework to support the health and social care partnerships that are engaged in our Partnership Support Programme.

Connecting Partnerships Framework [112Kb]

Through our work across Scotland, we've identified good progress being made and challenges faced by partnerships. Some of these are unique to particular partnerships; others show common themes. Developing and facilitating formal connections between a small number of partnerships provides an effective way to maximise the benefits of experience and innovative practice.

The framework provides an approach that complements our intensive support work, and includes the following objectives:

  • Help partnerships to apply ideas from other areas to their own local circumstances.
  • Enable effective information sharing, knowledge management, and development of good practice.
  • Support the development of local programmes that are informed by successful practice elsewhere.
  • Maximise skill-sharing and support staff in identifying their own learning and personal development objectives.
  • Provide peer support and mentoring as appropriate.

The Framework is directly linked to and influenced by the JIT Brief and Action Plan for the Partnership Support Programme applicable to the partnership involved. To encourage and support long-term, sustainable outcomes, it is anticipated that the Connecting Partnerships work may continue beyond the JIT intensive programme to help sustain long-term capacity and ongoing shared learning.
